Image:Reading a Notes database on your iPhoneI found a little utility when browsing the iPhone app store: CSV Touch.
Only 1.59 EUR. It allows you to browse (not edit) files (multiple !) created using a comma (or e.g. tab) delimited text file. This text file needs to be available on a webserver, as the file is 'imported' into CSV Touch using a URL. If you update the data in Notes, export them again, and CSV Touch will update the data too.
Search is supported too.
I tried it on my wine-cellar Notes app. Over 600 entries, about 20 columns of data: less then 2 seconds to import/update !
Here's some screenshots:

So if your looking for a way of at least having read access to existing Notes data,
give it a try. I like it.
