Image:Off-Road Land Rover ExperienceMy wife and I successfully 'graduated' from a Land Rover 4x4 off-road driving course this Sunday. After a technical car session, and a theoretical off-road do's/don'ts overview, we had the opportunity to drive ourselves (with a patient and eager-to-teach instructor next to us) all current models of Land Rover. Having bought my second Freelander (II) this January, I started off with this one. It's just incredible what this 'small' car is capable of. We (almost) did every obstacle as it bigger siblings. Not only did we successfully ran it uphill (70% steep), but we digested some pretty deep mud, bottomless pools, scary slopes, frantic stairs,... too. Next on my agenda: a Range Rover V8. This luxury powerhouse could handle everything with grace. To finish I got into a (low-comfort) Defender 110, the 'original'. It had a manual gear (including low), and can really 'dig' it all. There was no time to try the Range Rover Sport, nor the Discovery, but I got what I came for anyway. We certainly learned a lot.
A big thanks to Jacob from my Land Rover Retailer Peeters from Herentals, who made this possible, and congrats to the Land Rover Experience crew.
